Where we never thought 7 years, 70 million for Kenny Thomas was a good idea, and where we've logged as many minutes as Chris Webber in '07 but got paid $15 million less!

[...] Brian Westbrook – The smartest, most unselfish player Posted Today at 05:17 PM by highlite15 In a big win against the hated Dallas Cowboys today, the most spectacular play wasn’t a gravity defying TD catch, 95 yard kick return or even an ankle breaking scamper to the end zone. It was the best running back in the 2007 NFL season intentionally falling down at the ½ yard line with no defender in sight to secure a desperately needed win for the Philadelphia Eagles. Full story… [...]

Westbrook is by far one of the top three backs in the NFL. By falling down on the one yard line, Westbrook sacrificed many things that NFL players could gain. Incentives for TDs, stats which contribute to pro bowls and other awards and most importantly, fame. He's never been a "me" person and the guys like that in the NFL usually go a long ways and make it to the Hall of Fame with no questions asked. Being one of the smallest backs in the league, he is consistent week in and week out and deserves more respect from the top media groups.

With only 12 TD's this year Westbrook would have been justified with taking another. But I'm sure in the next round of negiotations with the Eagles, they will add that "could have" TD to his stats and remember what an amazing team guy he is. Or will they?

#36 is the best Eagle I've ever seen, I wish we could get him and us a SuperBowl win.

There was something similar a few years back in terms of awareness: Chad Lewis sliding down on his knees to run out the clock (I think on like the 5).

In terms of superstars, no. I've never seen a top flight back intentionally dodge a touchdown. It's another example of why I love #36. He's smart, selfless, and just wants to win. Best eagle I can remember.
